First of all let me start
my telling you about my startling decision to pick up and move to
another state.I decided one day (at the drop of a hat) to leave the
only life I ever knew and everything familiar to me behind. That
unfortunately included my friends and family, and move to Orlando. I
picked Orlando since I had been here a few times before on vacation and
fell in love with the climate and cleanliness of the state. The
diversity of the people in Orlando is amazing as many of it's residents
are fellow relocate rs. The cost of housing is substantially less than
Up North, as we now call NYC. I realized that unless I hit the lottery
I will always struggle from pay check to pay check and I would always
live in an apartment. At 44 years of age I wanted more, & unless I
made a power move I would never have anymore than what I had then a job
and an apartment I could barely keep up with. I searched the web,
career builders, monster.com and I found a job paying the same as what
I was bringing home in NYC. Florida does not have city & state tax
so the difference in salary worked out for me. Within a month I boarded
a plane with my 1 suitcase and the love of my life and moved. Long gone
are the roaches, mice and cold dirty snow of New York. When planning on relocation, certain things are key. Unless
you are independently wealthy you will need to secure a job or have at
least 2-3 months of money saved up for expenses such as rent, food,
utilities and gas. Keep in mind a car is a must, unless you want to
wait for 30 minutes to an hour for a Lynx bus. There are tons of "Buy
here, Pay here" car dealers in and around Orlando
that will sell you a used car for a minimal amount of money down. Most
of these dealers will also secure the plates, tags and car insurance
for you. The location you will settle in is extremely important. You will need to decide what part of Orlando is convenient
for you and your family. What type of area do you want to be in?
Orlando is broken down into different areas. Many people automatically
hear Orlando
and only think of Walt Disney World and Universal. In reality, Orlando
has many diverse areas, a west side, downtown, airport area, east side,
south and north areas which are all easily traveled by our major
highways. Think of Downtown as the middle of a map. Public schools
in Florida are rated as A, B or C schools. "A" obviously being the
best. After school care/extended day is available for working parents
until 6:00pm, the fee is based on the parents income. Orlando is
culturally diverse, there are Hispanic, Indian, Guyanese, Haitian,
Southern, Asian and many other smaller pocket neighborhoods. This areas
all make shopping, socializing and dining a wonderful experience. There
is a peace in Florida one can only find in the South. The friendliness,
caring and overall Godliness are found all over Florida. This makes
Orlando a calm, low key, down to earth place to live. In my
experience coming home from work and pulling into my own garage,
relaxing in our screened in pool area after a days work makes life all
the more enjoyable. After we recently returned to NYC for a family
function, experiencing again the smell of rotting garbage, trash in the
streets and sweating with out the luxury of central air; I was more
than happy to return to the clean air, sunshine and central air
conditioning of Florida. Home is truly where you make it. So why
continue to live pay check to pay check in an apartment, fight for
alternate side of the street parking and pack up the car and kiddies
for a Sunday at the beach or park? Yes, I still work Monday thru
Friday. Yes, I still rent. One year after my move, I have a house with
a pool, BBQ, Yard and two car garage & my son is in an "A" school
in our community. I have now a quality of life that before I could only
dream of. Some moves we make in life are easy, relocation is hard.
It is well worth the risk. Think positive, envision what you want in
life, see yourself there already imagine how wonderful it feels. It
will be yours. I have learnt much from watching and studying "THE
SECRET" and the Masters of the secret. The simple philosophy made me realize I can have everything I ever wanted. Fact: I wanted to move to Orlando - I did. I wanted a good job- I have it. I always to live in a real house with a yard- I am. I wanted to be happy - Boy am I ever! The
proof is in my story. I came to Orlando with a suitcase and my vacation
pay from my old job. "THE SECRET" gave me everything I have today. My
home, furnishings, a car, job and I can honestly say I have never gone
to bed hungry. See the links below to become the master of your own life, be everything you want to be, have everything you want to have.

MYTHS ABOUT ORLANDO
There are no jobs in Orlando Orlando Florida has hurricanes all the time Orlando is only Disney everything in Orlando is expensive Alligators and snakes walk in the streets in Orlando.
TRUTHS ABOUT ORLANDO
The above are not true at all, Hurricanes seldom hit Central Florida. We haven't had one here in 4 years. Orlando has a tropical climate, with that a rainy season which usually starts in June. There
are jobs here, you just have to look for one. Universal, Disney, Lynx,
Orlando regional health care & Florida Hospital are just a few of
some of the major employers here always advertising. Yes, there are alligators and snakes in Florida, but I haven't seen any. The pay is usually less than up North but so is the cost of housing, car insurance, gas and cigarettes. Things are slower paced in Florida- this is the south.
